There will be a contest here to win stuff approximately 4 times a year. E-mail your answers to: Each contest ends when the first person guesses correctly.
Question # 16 was:
Have you heard any Air Supply songs - old or newer - with unusual sounds in them? These can be talking, yelling,
something that sounds like its falling or clunking or squawking or anything that appears not to be an intended
part of the music.
Whomever comes up with the most examples, wins. I myself know of a few, but do you?????
Hint #1: Think of a very popular song from the past and also think of a new album for some of this "extra noise" stuff. Hint #2: Listen carefully to the "Greatest Hits" album (Making Love Out of Nothing At All) and listen to the "Free Love" album's
(Only One Forever). Try other songs too. Do you hear anything there . . . besides the music?
That's fantastic! She found more than I did. What I heard on "Only One F orever" was the guitar squeeks that happen when Graham moves his hand from one chord to the next. It's something that happens, and it can't be helped because there is no time usually to lift your hand up high enough off the metal strings to avoid the sound of the fingers that gripped one chord as they move and slide into the next chord's configuration. It's just more noticable in this song than in most. You can hear it in other people's recordings and I think it actually adds to the "I'm right here with you" feeling of a piece of music because it's often what you hear in real live, up close. Jenny will receive her prize soon.
Question #14 was:
a. Who is in this video? (see the link below) - Hint: someone we remember from Air Supply in days past.
Dyan answered: Rex Goh. Correct! Bernie says Rex's name at the end of the video.
b. Who or what is the person with?
The answer is: the group is called "Bodacious Cowboys".
c. Where did it take place?
The answer is: "The Basement" in Sydney, AU. (The best known live music venue in Sydney).
Many thanks to Bill L. who came up with the question for me and who set up the video and questions on YouTube.
And to Rex Goh who was also in on it through Bill L. It was fun, guys, and I appreciate your help and enthusiasm!

Hint #1: Listen to the very end of the video. Hint # 2: It's a guy, not a gal. Hint #3: It takes place somewhere "low". Hint # 4: His name is short, but the name isn't "Short".
Question #13 was:
Which member of the Air Supply band said this?: I always consider myself sort of an interpreter of somebody else's work .
Hint #1, it's someone who has been with the band a long time.
Of course, as always, there will be a prize (or two).
Question #12 was:
What parts did Graham and Russell play when they were in the 1999 film "Suits"?
Hint #1: What kinds of characters do you think Graham and Russell would play well in a film?
I believe they each deserve a prize, so 1st place and 2nd place awards will be given out this time. Good work.
Question #11 was:
Which Air Supply song and album are these words from?
"Among the silent
victims
Only the wind would moan
And for a time I felt us touch the great unknown"
She answered correctly, those words are lyrics from the song "News From Nowhere" from the 1995 album of the same name.
Her received her prize which she selected. Have fun with your prize, MJ!
Question #10 was:
In Air Supply, which guy say's he's "Air" and which one is "Supply"? If you can tell where you heard this, you'll get a bonus.
(Only someone that has not won so far may try for this prize. The prize is a surprise, but it's nice. Good luck!)
Dawn wrote:
The following is
the answer to your question on the Heart & Soul Website.
Russell Hitchcock said that he is "Air".
Graham Russell said that he is "Supply".
They said these statements in an interview with "Vinyl Justice"
officers, before a 'Big Bash' Concert at Universal City.
One of the officers is Wayne Brady.
Dawn answered correctly, gave additional info and is a new winner. She will get a prize of her choice from what I've got.
Good work, Dawn! Hope you liked your prize.

1. Rib-Eye
2. Filet Mignon
3. Sirloin
4. Porterhouse
5. London Broil
6. All of the above
7. None of the above
Sue answered correctly and is thinking of what she wants for her prize. You're on a roll, Sue!!! She got a bunch of clips on a DVD.
Question #8 question was: In the album "Across the Concrete Sky , one of the songs mentions a "raven".
Which song is it, and what earlier album (and song) mentions something similar - a black bird?
The clue was: The song from "ATCS" has the word "Shadow" in it.
Sue wrote: The song mentioning the raven is "Shadow of the Sun" on "Across the Concrete Sky". The song with the blackbird is "Someone" which is on the album "News from Nowhere" from 1995.
Answer: Sue is correct the other album mentioning a raven was "Shadow of the Sun" and the blackbird was mentioned in the song "Someone". She will win a CD.
Question #7 was: What well-loved 80's Air Supply album does not carry a title track?
Air Supply fan Come What May wrote: Oh, here they are. Air Supply the Christmas Album Hearts In Motion
Answer: Very good, Come What May is correct. (There were also some "Greatest Hits" albums that didn't use their album titles for song titles, but that's to be expected and I didn't consider them in this.) At his request, I'll send Come What May something other than the vinyl record, as he says that he has no way of playing it.
Question #6 was: Who was in Air Supply that plays in the Wiggles Band in the video "Wiggles Live Hot Potatoes " ?
Hint #1: It was a male, and he played guitar.
Hint #2: He has an "r" in his name.
Hint #3: He has a "g" in his name.

Thanks to Tracey (of our Aussie recipe fame) for suggesting the question and providing the link.
She wrote: "I was watching the "Wiggles Hot Potatoes Live" when they introduced the Wigglyband (playing off the side of the stage some). When they said Rex Goh, I rewinded it and made sure I heard right; and they showed him, and it was THE Rex Goh from the early days of AS!!"
Question # 5 was: What does Pink Floyd have to do with the song "Just As I Am" sung by Air Supply?
The winner got the vinyl 45 "Sweet Dreams" with "Don't Turn Me Away" on the flip side.
Answer: According to notes in "The Definitive Collection" CD: Just As I Am. Recorded in Los Angeles by Bob Ezrin, who had worked with such acts as Pink Floyd. The song had a harder edge, mostly due to the electric guitars. The video for this song, filmed in Florida, became VH1's "Video Of The Year"-RH
Question #4 was: In the video where the band is supposedly recording "Every Woman in the World," why is Russell laughing his head off while Graham looks on with mild humor?
The forth prize was the vinyl 45 "Every Woman in the World" with "Having You Near Me" on the back. 2nd runner up also earned a 45 record, "Making Love Out of Nothing At All.".
The winner of the 4th contest is Sue, from Canada. She wrote:
"Russell is laughing while they are supposedly recording the song "Every Woman in the World" because he is singing one line and we hear another line. In the actual recording Russell is singing both parts. but in the video he can only sing one. It appears that he is singing the wrong one."
Taz comes in for a tie, saying,
"Both the guys crack up because Russell forgot to sing his "Everything I need" line at the end, and so even though you hear him sing "Everything I need", he is mouthing along to a different part of the song! Once the guys realise this, they both crack up."
Answer: (See above and . . . ) Russell sings at least two tracks in that recording, probably even more - but during the filming of the video, he just didn't seem sure of which track he should be singing. If you haven't seen it, you should! Not only will Russell's laughing make you giggle, but Graham's wondering expression is priceless.
The third prize was a 45 record. Runner's up got a cassette tape "Air Supply Now and Forever."
The winner of the third contest is Taz from Australia. Though he helps out with this web site, he had no way of knowing the answers as he had no videos to look at and could only take a wild guess! Well, he guessed three of the answers! But BH's boys came in a close 2nd place, guessing two of the answers.
Question #3 was: Can you name the songs, put onto video and/or DVD, that show Jodi Russell - either in an acting part or as a member of the audience?
Answer: Jodi was in "Making Love Out of Nothing At All" as one of the characters. She was also shown quite a lot in the audience for the videos that featured the songs "Lonely Is the Night" and "One More Chance," both from the "Hearts In Motion" album. I saw a two second clip of Jodi behind some bars, like a jail or a disco cage!?! Could that possibly be another video Jodi was featured in, or was it some kind of promo clip? If anyone knows, please let me in on it too.
Oh my! BH says now that she saw a video of "It's Never Too Late" with Jodi in it, playing with water! So, I guess we can add one more to our list. Thanks for the info, BH.
The second prize was the vinyl 45 - "Just As I Am", with "Crazy Love" on the back.
The winner of the second contest is a gal that calls herself MA, from the U.S.
