My husband and I went to the Celtic Tenors concert in Dunedin, FL Valentine's evening (2/14/2009), and what a treat!
I couldn't believe they were in our area for two nights. Good thing, we were busy the 13th, and so we picked the 14th to go.
We went to The Conmy Center for their 8 pm show. Many of the ladies in the audience were wearing red or pink for Valentine's Day,
including me. It was pretty to see that "sea of red". Everyone was in the perfect mood for some music.

Colm Henry, their musical director, arrived on stage first and played a lovely solo piece on the piano. It was evident right off that he is excellent.
Then the tenors came out and made introductions. They were in suits with ties, all looking quite professional.
All the guys are actually from different parts of Ireland, and they told us about those cities and areas.

Songs we heard sung - in the most beautiful way imaginable - were: 1. You Raise Me Up, 2. Finigan's Wake, 3. The Goat Gone Mad, 4. The Holy City,
5. Melitasium (sp?), 6. Koric (sp?), 7. Irish Rover, 8. Hard Times (from their new album), 9, Strong Winds (a Canadian song), 10. Shenandoah,
11. Remember Me.

Intermission (I purchased their new CD at this point).

Now they came out in black velvet jackets, where each tenor's jacket's satin lining was a different vivid color - yellow, lime green or fushia.
They got right back to singing:
12. County Down, 13. Bring Him Home (from Les Misrables), 14. A Love so Beautiful (originally sung by Roy Orbison),
15. You Ain't Goin' Nowhere (originally sung by Bob Dylan), 16. Until My Dying Day (from Moulon Rouge), 17. The Mad Lady and Me,
18. Fearless Love, 19. The Belle of Belfast City, 20. The Town I Loved So Well, 21. Diddy Ried Diddy O Laddie O (I'm sure I've got that one wrong),
22. There's Whisky in the Jar, 23. Danny Boy, 24. Rose (I think it was called, sung in Italian), 25. Time To Say Goodbye,
The guys gave long-stemmed roses to each delighted lady in the front row.
After much applause, their encore for us was an aria from an opera (it might have been I Pagliacci, I'm not up on this opera -
the audience sang along in parts).
I'll try to research and correct some of those song titles I've guessed at.)

Afterwards, the guys came out to the lobby and began to sign autographs and interact with the group. They took a lot of time with each person
(now each fan), answering questions and just chatting away. Although their English was impeccable, it was still fun to hear the Irish accent
when they spoke.

All-in-all, it was a truly amazing night, and we are grateful for a whole lot of lovely, top notch music.
Thank you to the Celtic Tenors.

Hear them sing with Air Supply on the Air Supply album,
